Grab Your Lunch Box

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.-- Confucius

Sometimes you just have to get out there and do the work. I knew there was a 22 story hill spread out over a mile that I had to run at the end of running five miles to complete six. I knew that I had just drive. For 13 hours to NJ. But sometimes, you just have to do the work. I generally don't call in sick from work. I imagine most folks reading this do not call in sick.

Why would I not just do the work that is, "the run". It is not work in the traditional sense witha negative overtone to it. I don't grudgingly do the run. Running, aside from my wife and kids, is my greatest delight. With that delight comes some responsibility. I have goals so I have to do the work. I don't support the ideal of blue collar work in the "oh wee oh" dragging to work to do what you've done forever as did your parents, and heir parents, and their parents before them.

I do like the blue collar mentality of packing your lunch, taking no days off, speaking very little and just DOING THE WORK.
